#2 The Wood

Ipe is a beautiful, solid, dark chocolaty brown color.  It is perfect in many bath environments where you are looking for solid colors to match an existing bathroom.  And its fine grain makes it perfect for both our traditional and contemporary designs.

Most importantly, ipe is superior to teak.  Used primarily for outside decking it is water resistant and mold, mildew, and bacteria resistant.  While teak will start to turn grey after just a couple of years, Ipe will hold its true color for about 25 years before turning grey.  It is the perfect wood for the bath or shower and is as maintenance free as they come.  It is used almost exclusively for our industrial shower floors and mats.
